Low Light Pistol

This class enables students to effectively engage intended targets in low-light conditions. Students will utilize both handheld and weapon-mounted lights to engage paper and steel targets from distances up to 25 yards, with the majority of the class focusing on targets at 7 and 10 yards. The course covers: selecting appropriate flashlights for handheld and weapon-mounted use, proper carry positions for flashlights, differences and applications of lumens versus candela, beam patterns, hotspots, throw, and spill. Engaging multiple targets, use of barricades, and shooting while on the move
- Prerequisites: Successful completion of Pistol Engagements Phase 1 & 2.

Dress for the weather, class will continue rain or shine.
Equipment Required: Please bring the following:
- A reliable semiautomatic pistol. No revolvers or calibers smaller than 9 MM, please.
- A sturdy holster that retains its shape when the gun is drawn.
- Please refrain from bringing Vanguard or Serpa type holsters (exceptions made for Law Enforcement Officers), or shoulder holsters.
- One magazine pouch. Additional magazines can be stored in your pockets.
- 300-350 rounds of high-quality ammunition. Reloads are not permitted.
- 3-4 magazines for double-stack pistols.
- 5-6 magazines for single-stack pistols.
- A high-intensity handheld flashlight (minimum 500 Lumens).
- A weapon-mounted light is recommended but not necessary.
- Extra batteries for both types of lights.
- Eye and Ear protection.
- Rain gear.
- Bug repellent.
- Sunblock.
- A pocket notebook.
- A baseball-style hat is recommended.
- Bring enough water for hydration, and snacks.
