Mission Statement
Area 301 is a Firearms training school where we provide professional firearms training to civilians and law enforcement. Here, students can become more efficient with their firearms to protect themselves, their families, and others. We provide firearms training in numerous different areas. See the list of training classes that we offer and see the course descriptions for each.

Jess is retired from the Canton Police Department with over 24 years of service , is an army veteran and was deployed to the Persian Gulf for Operation Desert Storm. He has a bachelor's degree in technical education / criminal justice from the university of Akron. Jess has trained and certified numerous police officers for their OPOTA qualification in pistol and rifle. He currently holds a police commission with a department in Stark County where he works part time as a training officer.
Training
Jess has completed over 50 professional firearms training courses and many from nationally known firearms instructors such as Steve Fisher -Sentinel Concepts, Will Petty- Centrifuge Training, Daniel Shaw-Shaw Strategies, John “Chappy” Chapman and John “Doc” Spears-Forge Tactical, Matt Jacques-Victory First, Larry Vickers- USAR 1 st SFOD-D, James Yeager-Tactical Response, F.B.I. Cleveland Swat, Chris Cerino OPOTA/ Top Shot and numerous classes from his favorite instructor Det. Joe Weyer
from the Alliance Police Department.

Randy
Instructor
Randy has over 30 years in Law Enforcement, is an avid shooter and a Marine Corps veteran.
Training
Randy has attended numerous training classes covering pistol, rifle and shotgun. Those classes include
NRA Range Safety Officer, pistol operator, police carbine operator, undercover concealed carry, low light
handgun, shoot house, downed officer civilian rescue, two-man room clearing, vehicle CQB, working
with and from vehicles, etc. He also competes in local and national matches.
